War deprives over 3,000 Ukrainian children of parental care

Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion in Ukraine, 3,182 children have been left without parental care.

Details: A total of 541 children have lost parental care directly because of the war; 106 of them lost their parents to the war.

Quote from Vovk: "There are 206 orphans whose parents were killed, though there is no official confirmation and only a very small chance that we will be able to find those parents when the war is over."

 

Details: Vovk added that 610 people have already used the simplified procedure for submitting an initial application for adoption.

According to the Office of the General Prosecutor, as of 12 August, more than 1,067 children have been injured or killed in the war: 361 children have been killed, and more than 706 injured.

In addition, as of 1 August, 203 children are missing and at least 5,754 children have been illegally deported to the Russian Federation.
