Warby Parker to open new Sarasota location

SARASOTA — It started as an online business, connecting customers with eyewear virtually.

Now, eyeglass retailer Warby Parker has brick-and-mortar locations scattered across North America, with a new store opening this Saturday in Sarasota.

The store is scheduled to open at 140 University Town Center Drive in Sarasota, with hours from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday through Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. on Sundays.

There are Warby Parker stores at International Plaza and the Oxford Exchange in Tampa.

The Sarasota store’s decor draws inspiration from libraries, with copies of Warby Parker’s art book The Alphabet of Art at Warby Parker available for sale. The Sarasota location also features a mural of round-lens glasses, drawing inspiration from the area’s history with the circus.

Warby Parker offers a wide range of eyeglasses, sunglasses and contacts in its online catalogue. Now, those products will be available for in-person purchase, including Warby Parker’s daily contact lens brand, Scout. Customers will receive a free pouch labeled “Keys Wallet Sunglasses” with sunglasses purchases, while supplies are available.

Eye exams will also be available at the store, following its opening. The retailer is in-network for UnitedHealthcare and Spectra, accepting other forms of payment, including from Flex Spending and Health Savings accounts.. More information is available online.
