Warehouse deemed total loss after 3-alarm fire early Friday on Amarillo Blvd.

A warehouse was decimated in Amarillo Friday morning, after a 3-alarm fire tore through the facility, according to a news release from the Amarillo Fire Department.

The Amarillo Fire Department (AFD) responded to a three-alarm fire at 4110 E. Amarillo Blvd. on Friday morning.

Officials said the incident took place at a warehouse facility just west of the railroad tracks, and the structure was deemed a total loss.

During the incident, the Amarillo Police Department issued a traffic advisory, stating that traffic was closed in all directions on Amarillo Boulevard as crews battled the fire between Grand Street and the Fritch Highway. Motorists were asked to avoid the area and find a different route to work or school.

The alarm was received at 2:30 a.m., prompting the deployment of personnel, AFD reported. The first unit arrivedon the scene at 2:34 a.m. and was quickly followed by additional units.

"A total of 15 fire apparatus, manned by 39 personnel, were deployed to combat the blaze," the release stated.

At the time of the release, no injuries had been reported.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. AFD said updates will be provided as soon as more information becomes available.

The property sustained significant damage as a result of the fire. An evaluation of the financial impact is currently underway, and the exact dollar amount of the loss is yet to be determined, AFD said.
