MOORESVILLE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Want to live like Christian McCaffrey? Well, you’re going to have to start saving, and saving a lot!

The NFL running back’s Iredell County home just hit the market for $12.5 million.

Though his time with the Carolina Panthers wasn’t as long – or healthy — as some would like, the features in his luxurious lakefront chateau are timeless.

“It’s just so many, right?” said Victoria Speer, luxury real estate broker at The Agency Charlotte. “The Tourette staircase is one of them. The kitchen area,” she listed. “Even though it’s such a big property, it feels warm and cozy. It’s just for entertaining. “

Speer helped McCaffrey buy his since-sold Uptown condo, and they’ve worked together ever since. She’s been putting together this listing since last spring. He was traded to the San Francisco 49ers in the middle of the 2022 season.

“So, I have a Rolodex of, you know, contractors, landscapers, pool people, painters, you know, just to make sure there was not much needed to be done here as far as that, which is nice,” Speer told Queen City News.

Currently, there are four other Lake Norman properties listed above $10 million. Speer believes the price of $12.5 million for a home that is near-new is quite attractive. It was built in 2018, and purchased by McCaffrey’s LLC two years later.

“There’s no work to be done, so I feel that we are actually priced really well,” she said, “and on top of that, it comes with his toys.”

The home features a double-decker dock with a boat and Jet Ski, multiple limestone fireplaces, a double-island kitchen with one wrapped in copper.

“Wait until you see the master closet,” Speer said while giving us a tour of the two-story closet with a spiral staircase.

The garage was transformed into CMC’s personal workout room. One of his favorite retreats was to a fully stocked theater.

For those who prefer to “wine” down, however?

“It holds over 215 bottles of wine,” Speer said as she opened the door to a temperature-controlled wine cellar. The basement also has a bar with its own garage door leading out to an infinity pool overlooking a Lake Norman cove.

The home has been professionally staged, but still holds some of CMC’s personal items including his cherished piano, and something that might still sting for Panthers fans: a 49ers baseball cap.
“At first he thought he was going to keep it because he loves it here,” Speer said.

There’s no telling when the right buyer will come along, and even though moving on has been bittersweet, they’re now hoping this listing will go under contract as fast as CMC can run.
