The high will be in the mid-70s.
- So we start this week completely opposite of last Monday. Erin Moran is in for Scott tonight to kick off the week. And best news of all sounds like tomorrow, and then we get a little sideways later in the week, but nothing like last week, thankfully.
ERIN MORAN: [LAUGHS] Yeah, you know, the weather kind of tanks a little bit for the second half of the week. But at least we're not going to be dealing with temperatures in the negatives, or any sort of winter precipitation. We just got a little rain to talk about and some cooler weather as well. But we still have a couple more days that look just like this. Earlier this morning, a beautiful start, nice sunrise, and then we just had mostly sunny skies all day, nice south breeze.
So along with that sunshine, we have had temperatures in the upper 60s and low 70s this afternoon. Right now we've actually got a pretty wide range of temperatures-- low 40s in Minneola to about 60 degrees in Dallas, and then everything in between. But not expecting anything to drop to below freezing overnight, and we have temperatures expected to be even warmer for tomorrow, compared to today.
What a difference a week makes, right? Last Monday's high was 14 degrees, and then today, a high of 71, so a 57 degree difference just in seven days' time. Now tonight, we've got low to mid 40s expected, clear skies, a south wind, no real issues there. And tomorrow with mostly sunny skies, expecting temperatures to warm into the mid-70s. It does get a little breezy on Tuesday, south-southwest wind at about 10 to 20 miles an hour. But that's one of the reasons why we're expecting it to get so warm.
And then we get to Wednesday. We're still above average in the mid-60s. But we do have a cold front on the way. And you see those temperatures back into the low and mid-50s on Thursday. And the rain chances go up as well to about 60% in coverage on Thursday, down to 30% for Friday and Saturday, picks back up for the second half of the weekend and into next week.
So cold front swings through on Wednesday. We kind of notice the cooldown into Thursday. And then Thursday afternoon, we really start to see the rain ramping up. I think this is generally light rain, but it's just going to be over a widespread period of time. We've got rain in the forecast Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and even into Monday as well. So you kind of add that all up, and we're dealing with the possibility of seeing anywhere from 1 to 3 inches of rain. And the temperatures do get a little bit cooler. So if you like the sunshine and the warmer weather, enjoy the next couple of days.
