Rain returns Wednesday; High Wind Watch in effect Thursday

A High Wind Watch has been issued for Auglaize, Champaign, Clark, Darke, Greene, Logan Mercer, Miami, Montgomery, Preble and Shelby counties for Thursday.

DETAILED FORECAST:

TONIGHT: Clouds linger, but dry with diminishing winds. Overnight lows dip to the lower 30s.

TOMORROW: Mostly cloudy and dry for Wednesday with highs around 50 degrees. Clouds thicken and rain arrives by late Wednesday evening. Winds increase as the rain arrives and continue to strengthen overnight. A few rumbles of thunder will be possible, too.

THURSDAY: Widespread rain and some thunder possible Thursday morning with gusty winds. While we dry out into the afternoon, the winds will remain. In fact, some wind gusts by mid-morning through the afternoon may peak as high at 50 to 60 mph. It’s possible to see a few isolated power outages. Winds gradually decrease overnight, but still breezy into Friday.

FRIDAY: Mostly cloudy and cooler on Friday, but still breezy. A few passing rain showers may cross through the Miami Valley by Friday evening and could switch to a few flurries as temperatures drop overnight. Highs during the day will reach the middle 40s.

SATURDAY: Slight chance of an early morning flurry, otherwise mostly cloudy to partly cloudy skies. A colder day, but seasonable with a high in the upper 30s.

SUNDAY: A cold start to the day, but milder for the afternoon on Sunday with mostly sunny skies. Highs reach the middle 40s.

MONDAY: Partly cloudy and warmer on Monday. Highs in the lower 50s.

TUESDAY: More clouds around with a few showers possible by the end of the day Tuesday. Highs back into the lower 50s.
