Warming center open at Massillon church

MASSILLON − In response to the frigid temperatures, Central Presbyterian Church is operating a warming center at 47 Second St NE.

The center is open today from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., according to a news release. Hot coffee, snacks, a warm lunch, personal hygiene kits and outlets for charging electronic devices are available. Service animals are permitted in the building.

A warming center will be open in Massillon every day that the high temperature is forecast to be below 20 degrees. When the day temperatures are below 20 degrees, the centers will operate from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday at the Salvation Army, 315 Sixth St NE, and Thursday through Saturday at Central Presbyterian Church.
