Warming trend for Northeast Florida this week

The rush back to work and school is chilly but otherwise uneventful. Action News Jax Meteorologist Corey Simma is tracking some areas of patchy fog and temperatures that will climb to the low 70s under a mostly sunny sky.

Overnight, we will drop to the upper 40s. The next few days will be mainly dry and mild. Tuesday and Wednesday will climb to the upper 70s.

Highs will eventually get back to the lower 80s by Thursday before a cold front brings showers and cooler temperatures for the end of the work week.

Our first chance for rain comes late Thursday with isolated showers. Friday will be mostly cloudy with a few showers and temperatures in the low 70s.

The weekend looks more seasonal with cooler temperatures in the low to mid 60s. Morning lows will be in the upper 30s to low 40s.

Pine pollen continues to bloom and leave behind the colorful film on cars and outdoor patio furniture.
