Warner Bros. bans media group helmed by Putin’s mistress from broadcasting its films

The ban applies to Russia’s Channel One, STS, Ren TV and Channel Five, move.tv and several cable-delivered services operated by NMG.

This ban was put into effect despite the fact that the licensing agreements are in place for another year and a half.
The board of directors of NMG is Alina Kabaeva, a former gymnast romantically linked to Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.
The Walt Disney Company completely suspended its activities in Russia and closed the regional office in the beginning of November.

In March, the Walt Disney Company paused the release of theatrical films and all other businesses in Russia. The Russian version of its website stopped working in October. All users are automatically redirected to disney.com, and its social media accounts are no longer accessible in the region as well.
