Warren police investigating death of man after body found in river

Warren police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found in the Warren River on Monday afternoon.

The body was found in the water near the Warren Town Dock after a caller reported it at 1:15 p.m., Warren police Lt. Christopher Perreault said in a news release.

An investigation by police detectives and the Office of the State Medical Examiners continues.

The cause of the man's death remained undetermined, the police said.

Police said they know the identity of the man who died, but they withheld that information Monday afternoon as they reached out to his family, Perreault said.
