Democratic presidential hopeful Elizabeth Warren is vowing to protect over 40 million renters in the U.S. by helping them go after bad landords and fight eviction…
That's according to Warren's latest policy proposal released Monday.

Warren - whose campaign has become known for everything from housing to healthcare to climate change - said she would fight for a national right to counsel for low-income renters if elected president, noting that 90 percent of tenants in eviction cases had NO lawyers, while 90 percent of landlords DID…
She promised to create a federal eviction standard requiring landlords to show good cause before initiating proceedings…
She also said she would establish a new (quote) "tenant protection bureau" modeled after the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau - Warren's brainchild after the 2008 financial crash…

Warren is near the top of the Democratic field... but a poll over the weekend showed Warren's contender South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg having a clear lead among the other candidates in Iowa, which will hold the first nominating contest in February...
Buttigieg's support climbed to 25 percent preceding a close three-way battle for second with Warren at 16 percent and former U.S. Vice President Joe Biden and Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders tied at 15 percent each.
