Warrington Dance Instructor Featured In Inauguration Video

WARRINGTON, PA — A Bucks County actor, dancer and performing arts educator was featured in the Biden-Harris Dance Across America parade, which aired on Inauguration Day.

Tony Azzaro, who runs the Freestyle Dance Academy in Warrington, said he was asked by film director Kenny Ortega to audition for a part in the video, which features dancers and performers from across the country celebrating the inauguration of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.

Azzaro said he first met the filmmaker several years ago while auditioning for a part.

"Anytime you get to work with somebody like that it's humbling," he said.

A graduate of the Council Rock School District and Temple University, Azzaro currently splits his time as an actor, dancer, choreographer, DJ and dance instructor.

While the arts and entertainment industry has taken a financial hit from the coronavirus pandemic, Azzaro said he's been able to whether the storm by providing a safe space for students at his dance studio in Warrington.

"We've been able to instill a plan of action at the studio that allows us to ensure the safest environment for our dancers," he said. "I have to commend our kids, even our youngest five- and six-year-olds, they understand it, and they work together. We have physical boxes on the dance floor they know they have to stay in."

Azzaro appears at the 1:28 mark in the video:
