Warrior Run School Board appoints new council president

Dec. 6—TURBOTVILLE — John Lyons was named the next Warrior Run School Board president after being nominated and voted in by his fellow council members at Tuesday night's special reorganization meeting.

Council then nominated and voted for Gail Foreman as vice president.

Tyler Potts is continuing as business manager and as a non-voting board secretary.

Three new members were sworn in at the meeting: Miranda Bailey, representing region 1, Jennifer Rempe, region 2, and Aaron Milheim, region 3. councilwoman Linda Shupp won reelection representing region 3. All will be serving four-year terms.

Region 1 includes: Gregg Townshp, Union County, West District; Delaware Township, Northumberland County; and Second Ward, Watsontown Borough, Northumberland County.

Region 2 encompasses: First Ward, Watsontown Borough, Northumberland County, South District, Delaware Township, Northumberland County; McEwensville Borough, Northumberland County; and East District, Delaware Township, Northumberland County.

Region 3 represents: Anthony Township, Montour County; Limestone Township, Montour County; Lewis Township, Northumberland County; and Turbotville Borough, Northumberland County.

Current council members Doug Whitmoyer and Tamara Hoffman were not reelected.

Committees were discussed but the final approval will be at the Dec. 18 meeting, said Potts. The only item approved was the 2024 meeting dates.

The board entered into a conference session with the Pennsylvania School Boards Association after the meeting.
