Warriors rookie James Wiseman will return to play Tuesday vs. Knicks

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said that James Wiseman will return to play on Tuesday versus the New York Knicks after missing the past 11 games with a sprained left wrist.

Wiseman on Monday practiced fully with the Warriors for the first time since suffering the injury on Jan. 30 against the Detroit Pistons. The team wanted to see how he responded to practice before making an official declaration on his status for Tuesday.

Kerr confirmed that veteran Kevon Looney will also return to the lineup after missing 10 games with an ankle injury. Looney will start on Tuesday with Wiseman set to come off the bench on the road against the Knicks as the team will work on re-adjusting their rotations.

Wiseman last week said that he was making good progress from the injury and felt close to returning to the court. He added that wrist injuries can be difficult to return from but said that there were no setbacks during his recovery.

Wiseman, in 20 games this season, is averaging 12.2 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.3 blocks. He ranks fourth in scoring average among all rookies while he is tied for first with LaMelo Ball in rebounding.
