Warwick mayor says he has tested positive for COVID

WARWICK — Mayor Frank Picozzi has announced on Facebook that he has tested positive for COVID-19.

Picozzi said he tested positive on Wednesday afternoon.

"My symptoms started to appear late yesterday and have worsened a bit," he wrote. "So far I feel like I have a bad head cold or serious asthma attack but I also have a hacking cough and a very sore throat. I am vaccinated and received my booster a month ago.

"I have my laptop and phones so I’ll be Mayor from my house for a while.

"I’m just pretty sad that I’m going to miss seeing you all at Friday’s fireworks. We’ll get through this."
