Clear Spring's Ryder Brown and Serenity Anderson voted Athletes of the Week

Clear Spring seniors Ryder Brown and Serenity Anderson were voted The Herald-Mail’s Washington County Athletes of the Week for Jan. 30-Feb. 4.

The voting was conducted online Monday morning through noon Thursday.

Brown, an indoor track and field athlete, earned the boys honor with 61.68% of the vote (425 votes). He won the shot put at the 1A West championships with a personal-record throw of 44 feet, 1 3/4 inches.

Anderson, a basketball player, was the girls winner with 43.3% of the vote (388 votes). She had 14 points, six rebounds, five blocks, three assists and three steals against Mountain Ridge.

The other girls nominees were Hancock’s Aidan Faith (indoor track) and Smithsburg’s Maddie Kesselring (basketball).

The other boys nominees were Boonsboro’s Manny Sampson (wrestling) and Williamsport’s Richard Sanon (indoor track).
