Clear Spring’s Hutson Trobaugh and Hancock’s Brooklyn McCusker were voted The Herald-Mail’s Washington County Athletes of the Week for March 20-25.

The voting was conducted online Monday morning through noon Thursday.

Trobaugh, a senior baseball player, earned the boys honor with 60.17% of the vote (580 votes). He went 3-for-5 with a home run, double and four RBIs and pitched four shutout innings with six strikeouts in a season-opening win over Washington.

Hancock’s Brooklyn McCusker was voted The Herald-Mail’s Washington County Girls Athlete of the Week for March 20-25.

McCusker, a freshman softball player, was the girls winner with 52.36% of the vote (465 votes). She had three hits, two RBIs and was the winning pitcher against St. Maria Goretti, and she hit a two-run homer in a victory over Turkeyfoot.

The other girls nominees were Williamsport’s McKenna Weaver (softball) and Smithsburg’s Maddie Kesselring (lacrosse).

The other boys nominees were North Hagerstown’s Q’Maree Winston and Smithsburg’s Blake Linn, both lacrosse players.
