Washington County: Feedback sought on study for Minnesota 36/Lake Elmo Avenue project
Washington County and Minnesota Department of Transportation officials are working on a plan to improve safety at the intersection of Minnesota 36 at Lake Elmo Avenue.
In conjunction with officials from Grant and Lake Elmo, the county and the state are asking for the public’s feedback on two draft documents — a purpose and need document and evaluation criteria — related to the proposed improvements.
The project, expected to be under construction in 2025, is intended to address existing deficiencies, including inadequate intersection spacing, increased congestion and delays, and safety concerns.
The draft documents will be used to help evaluate alternatives for improvements, officials say. An online open house, which runs until Tuesday, will provide an opportunity for the public to comment on the documents; there will be no formal presentation or discussion.
