Washington Twp. trustees work on plans for funding update
Highlights of Oct. 3 meeting of Washington Township trustees:
Department reports
Park – Last rental for the year is Oct. 8, then closing up for winter.
Zoning – Five permits issued, one land split and two inspections. Notice will be sent to property owner in 1200 block of Beech Street for a building and vegetation.
Fire – Department reported 35 runs for September, with 380 runs for year. Runs included a fire, 27 medical, one person in distress, five stand-by for other department and a controlled burn. Trustees approved $5,000 for inspection and service on the fire trucks. Trustees approved service agreement and business agreement with Ohio Billing Inc.
Road – Second roadside mowing complete, pipe was to be delivered this week for job on Bayton.
Other action
Janet Moser from Washington Township Historical Society announced 10th annual soup supper from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 5 at Salem Church on Beechwood Ave.
Bills were then paid totaling $19,880.77.
Trustees discussed an increase to local government funds for 2023-27. Trustees approved motion from Trustee Wayne Wallace to adopt the extension of an alternative method for apportioning the funds.
UPCOMING – Trustees next will meet Oct. 17 at Township Hall.
