Washington woman raped boys, ages 5 and 9, in incident caught by doorbell camera: cops
A Washington woman, 19, has been arrested and charged in the rape of two boys under the age of 10, after the incident was captured by a doorbell camera, police said.
Yakitrinews reported that a witness called the Yakima Police Department around 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday to report on the alleged rape, saying that he had evidence that a sexual assault had occurred outside his apartment.
Footage caught by a doorbell camera showed a woman performing oral sex on the boys, according to police.
An officer was dispatched to the scene around 4:40 p.m., and then directed to the suspect, who’s reportedly a resident of the apartment complex.
KIMA TV reported that the suspect, who was later identified as 19-year-old Miah R. Lopez, tried to run away, but she was eventually caught by the officer.
According to KOMO News, she later told investigators that the incident has happened “just today.” Police say she was not a stranger to the boys.
The suspect was booked at the Yakima County and charged with two counts of first-degree child rape and obstructing a police officer.
Detectives said they will conduct a forensic interview with the boys, as part of the investigation.
