In mind-blowing news, Angelina Jolie's oldest son Maddox is now 18 and starting college in South Korea. (He'll be studying biochemistry.) Jolie was filmed dropping him off at Yonsei University in Seoul and did a little informal interview with students where she spoke about how she felt with him alongside her.

Instagram user @xx_efu shared the footage of Jolie's candid chat. Jolie was asked how long she was going to stay in South Korea. "I leave today. Today’s the day I go home. I know. I’m trying not to cry," she said when the group collectively said "aww."

Jolie said that she and Maddox had been around "a little bit" in Seoul before moving him into the school. "It seems like a great school!" she finished. "I hope you’re all going to like it." Maddox remained alongside her the entire time.

The two also took photos together that the user shared:

A source told Entertainment Tonight recently that Maddox and Jolie are very close. "She loves him and is so proud of how wise he is beyond his years," the source said. "She has encouraged him to travel nonstop, to learn many languages, and now has plans for him to go to university overseas. Maddox is very attached to his mom. She's always stood by him."

This rare look at Maddox and Jolie's relationship comes one day after Us Weekly ran a report about Maddox's relationship with his adopted dad Brad Pitt, Jolie's ex-husband. They are nowhere near as close. A source said that “Maddox doesn’t really see himself as Brad’s son.”

But Pitt has hope for the future. "Brad’s hopeful that as his son gets older, they’ll become close again," a source told Us.
