The quest for Super Bowl LVI is on.

On Sunday, the Kansas City Chiefs (12-5) will host the Pittsburgh Steelers (9-7-1) as part of NFL Wild Card Weekend.

Patrick Mahomes and company will enter the weekend as the AFC’s No. 2 seed after the Chiefs won their regular-season finale against the Denver Broncos. The 28-24 victory was enough to help Kansas City earn the AFC West title and a home playoff game, but the defending AFC champs fell just short of capturing the conference’s top seed this season.

Despite a rocky start to the beginning of the 2021-22 season, Kansas City appears to be clicking on all cylinders heading into the postseason. The Chiefs have won three of their last four games and are averaging just over 32 points per game.

The Chiefs will host the AFC’s 7-seed Pittsburgh Steelers. Led by veteran quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, the Steelers claimed the final AFC playoff spot last Sunday after defeating AFC North rival Baltimore 16-13 in overtime and getting some help from the Las Vegas Raiders, who eliminated the Los Angeles Chargers from playoff contention, later that night.

The Steelers faced adversity throughout the regular season but managed to ensure a 15th winning season under head coach Mike Tomlin. Like the Chiefs, Pittsburgh has won three of its last four games. However, Pittsburgh is 3-5 this season on the road.
