Watch Circuit des Yeux Cover Galaxie 500’s “Pictures”
Haley Fohr—the artist behind Circuit des Yeux and Jackie Lynn—has shared a new cover of Galaxie 500’s “Pictures,” from the band’s 1988 debut Today. It’s part of a new video series of 20 Galaxie 500 covers, organized by Guided by Voices and Yoko Ono manager David Newgarden, who initially conceived of the event as a Record Store Day concert in Brooklyn before the coronavirus pandemic forced its cancellation. “Thank you, Galaxie 500, for choosing to make music,” Fohr said in a statement. “The year ‘Today’ was born was also the year I was born. What a sweet coincidence. Your soundtrack undoubtedly made Earth a softer place to land.”
Jackie Lynn’s second record, Jacqueline, arrived in April. Haley Fohr’s last Circuit des Yeux album, Reaching for Indigo, came out in 2017.
