How to watch Clemson vs. South Carolina baseball ... and a concerning weather forecast

It’s almost time for the Clemson-South Carolina baseball series.

The No. 10 Tigers and No. 19 Gamecocks are set to play their annual rivalry series this weekend, with a game apiece at each program’s home ballpark plus a neutral-site game (played at Columbia’s Segra Park this year) in between.

With both teams qualifying for the NCAA Tournament last year and ranking among D1Baseball’s top 20 teams this season, it’ll be an emotional, high-stakes series played out across three venues in three days.

South Carolina won last year’s series by winning back-to-back games in Greenville and Columbia (a decisive 7-1 rubber match) after losing the opener at Clemson.

The Gamecocks, who reached their first NCAA Super Regional since 2018 last year, are led by seventh-year coach Mark Kingston. The Tigers are in their second season under coach Erik Bakich, who guided Clemson to a No. 4 national seed and NCAA regional appearance.

Here’s everything you need to know about this weekend’s Clemson-USC baseball series, including streaming information (none of the three games will air on traditional television) and the weather forecast, which could impact things.

Will weather affect the Clemson-USC baseball series?

According to the National Weather Service, the forecast for the Saturday game in Columbia and the Sunday game in Clemson has cleared up considerably. As of Thursday, both of those forecasts indicate only a slight chance of a rain for the afternoon contests.

The Friday game, though, is worth monitoring. The current forecast indicates a 90% chance of rain during the game. The hourly forecast also shows steady rain throughout the day in Columbia on Friday.

Last year’s opening rivalry game, in Clemson, was delayed over two hours from its initial 6 p.m. start time to 8:15 p.m. If forecasts continue, another opening night rain delay could be in the cards. (Founders Park has already had a few weather delays this season.)

What if it’s too rainy to play at all? The last time Clemson and USC had their Friday game postponed because of weather in 2021, they played their Saturday and Sunday games as scheduled and made up the last game later in the season on an open midweek date in May.

How to stream USC vs. Clemson baseball

For a second straight season, South Carolina and Clemson are getting the streaming-only treatment for their rivalry weekend series.

Friday’s game is being broadcast on SEC Network Plus, and the Saturday and Sunday games are being broadcast on ACC Network Extra. Both of those platforms are online-only streaming channels that are part of the ESPN family and supplement their parent channels, ACC Network and SEC Network.

If your cable TV or live TV streaming package includes the ACC Network and SEC Network channels, you already have access to these streaming channels at no additional charge.

A number of live TV streaming services such as fuboTV, Sling, DirecTV Stream, Hulu+ Live TV and YouTube TV also offer free trials for ACC Network and/or SEC Network (which come with ACC Network Extra and SEC Network Plus access).

Using those log-in credentials, you can watch the USC-Clemson games through the ESPN app or espn.com/watch via a phone, tablet or connected streaming device such as a Roku TV or an Amazon Fire TV Stick.
