Crews respond to fire in Northwest DC caused by malfunctioning solar panel

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — Fire crews responded to a building fire in Northwest D.C. Thursday night.

Officials said that the fire was showing from the attic and roof of a building in the 3000 block of Cambridge Pl.

DC Fire and EMS said in a post on the platform X, formerly known as Twitter, that crews had knocked down the visible fire as of 7 p.m.

No injuries had been reported. DC Fire and EMS said firefighters were able to prevent the flames from spreading to the surrounding homes that were attached.

Investigators said the fire was caused by a solar panel that malfunctioned.
