Chicago Bears rookie RB David Montgomery scored the first touchdown of his NFL career Sunday against the Denver Broncos when he took off from the one-yard line and extended the ball into the end zone.
Montgomery's touchdown was also the first for the Bears' offense this season.
Matt Nagy has been calling Montgomery's number quite a bit since Sunday. His touchdown was his 16th carry of the game, compared to just six rushes in Week 1.
Montgomery has been effective with his carries, too. He's been Chicago's most productive rusher, even if his yards per carry dipped a bit because of the series of goaline carries that came up short. He has 56 yards on 16 carries with most of the fourth quarter remaining.
