Watch: Dingo burglarizes boat, steals purse and snacks

Sept. 25 (UPI) -- Tourists on the Australian island of K'gari captured video of a dingo that swam out to their boat while it was anchored offshore and stole items including a purse.

Sarah Isobel said in a Facebook post that the boat was not occupied when the dingo identified it as a prime target for burglary off the coast of the Queensland island.

"This clever dingo managed to make 3 trips to the boat and back while we were running back from the Sunset Bar to stop him," Isobel wrote in the description of her video. "He stole my handbag (it had a muffin wrapped up in it), chips, chocolate and a bag of pork crackle!"

Isobel said she was later able to recover her handbag.

Queensland's Department of Environment and Science urges residents and visitors in the K'gari to keep all food and trash secured from dingos, as it could cause the wild animals to lose their fear of humans.
