Watch: Dolphins QB Ryan Fitzpatrick completes a pass to himself

Dolphins quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick is interested in doing things very few quarterbacks have ever done before. In 2019, the 37-year-old veteran led his team in rushing yards, and only Lamar Jackson matched him in that particular feat. Fairly impressive on Fitzpatrick’s part, as he isn’t exactly known for his wheels.

On Thursday night, Fitzpatrick also completed a pass to himself — the throw was deflected by rookie linebacker K’Lavon Chaisson, and Fitzpatrick took the deflection and started rumbling downfield.

Per ESPN Stats & Info, it’s not the first time Fitzpatrick has done it.

Fitzpatrick did indeed complete 18 of 20 passes on the evening, so he broke that particular team record.

But wait — there’s more!

Any time you can get yourself compared to Bob Griese, Dan Marino and Walter Payton in the same game, you’re shooting way below par.

When we call him “Fitzmagic,” this is why.
