Watch Dr. Pimple Popper Say 'Aloha' to a Giant Father's Day Cyst Pop

From Men's Health

• In a new Instagram video, Dr. Pimple Popper pops a giant cyst on a patient's back.
• Cysts on the neck and trunk are common, and are often benign and relatively harmless.
• If a cyst suddenly grows in size, it's best to see a dermatologist for treatment rather than try to pop it yourself.

Just in time for Father's Day, Dr. Pimple Popper published a new Instagram video in which she thanks all the dads out there for helping keep her in business. Or as she puts it in the post's caption: "A Dad POP in honor of Father’s Day! Here’s to all those great Dad’s out there who give us such great cysts! A Pop’s POP!

In the video, Dr. Pimple Popper—aka, dermatologist and TLC host Dr. Sandra Lee, MD—works on a particularly overgrown cyst located on the top of a man's back, just below his neck. As she squeezes the incision, a "big ribbon"—as Dr. Lee puts it—of pus emerges.

While Dr. Lee doesn't provide much in the way of context this time, the cyst appears to be either a sebaceous or epidermoid cyst, both of which are highly common. Thankfully, in most cases—as anyone who watches Dr. Lee's videos knows by now—cysts are most often benign and relatively harmless to the patient, and in some cases the patient can even forego treatment if the cyst isn't bothersome. When cysts suddenly grow in size, however, it's important to seek the care of a professional to have it drained rather than give in to the temptation to pop it yourself.
