Watch Dr. Pimple Popper Perform an 'Eye-Opening' Cyst Pop

From Men's Health

• In a new Instagram video, Dr. Pimple Popper pops a cyst on the edge of a woman's eye.
• Cysts located on the eyelid are typically known as chalazion or meibomian cysts.
• The condition is fairly common, and typically the cysts are benign and harmless.

In her latest Instagram post, Dr. Pimple Popper helps an elderly patient deal with a cyst located on the very corner of her eyelid—much to the amusement of her friends. As Dr. Pimple Popper—aka, dermatologist and TLC host Dr. Sandra Lee, MD—mentions in the post's caption, "The eyes have it. There is pure enjoyment when you get a good POP." (Judging by the clip, it's hard to argue with that—the crowd overseeing the procedure seems absolutely delighted to see the cyst extracted.)

While Dr. Lee doesn't provide too much context in the clip, the cyst appears to be what's known as a chalazion or meibomian cyst, which are commonly located on the eyelids, according to Harvard Medical School. They tend to be filled with sebum—often (in the case of eyelids) a mixture of oil and mucus, and form when the ducts become blocked.

"It's like you've stored a little—maybe there's some clues in here, like you've stored a buried treasure. It's almost like it has a little face on it," Dr. Lee says. As Harvard Women's Health Watch points out, many of these cysts disappear without treatment. If they continue to persist, it's best to seek out the care of a professional rather than try to pinch or drain them on your own, which may irritate the skin and worsen your symptoms.
