In a new Instagram video, Dr. Pimple Popper—aka, dermatologist and TLC host Dr. Sandra Lee, MD—pops a cyst buried behind a patient’s ear. And the removal just might remind you of an English muffin. Stick with me here.
In the clip, Dr. Lee makes an incision into the precariously placed cyst, pushing against the patient’s ear to pop it out.
“Gosh, no wonder. It’s hard to get to this place to squeeze it,” Dr. Lee said, understanding why the patient had to call in reinforcements. “It’s like the little nook and cranny if your world.”
See, I told you it’d remind you of an English muffin with all those nooks and crannies. Dr. Lee gets most of the cyst out in one go, but goes back for more a few times to make sure everything is good and gone.
One fan commented the resulting growth “looks like a white tick,” while many others commented that they have cysts in the same location.
The cyst is likely epidermoid cyst, which contains a collection of wet dead skin cells and keratin. They can occur on the face, neck and body, which includes the ear.
