Watch: Trapped Indian tunnel workers seen for first time in nine days

Members of a group of 41 workers trapped in a tunnel in India have been seen alive for the first time in nine days.

The footage was captured on Monday by a miniature camera inserted into a small pipe drilled into the tunnel, where they have been trapped since Nov 12.

The men were working in an under-construction highway tunnel in India’s northern Uttarakhand tunnel when it collapsed under a landslide.

They have been trapped inside, surviving on snacks, water and oxygen supplies sent in via pipes and communicating with the outside world via walkie-talkies.

Rescuers plan to insert a 90cm pipe for the men to crawl out through but have been delayed by loose soil and falling debris.
