FSU defeated NC State 83-81 in Raleigh last season. A win for the Seminoles would equalize the all-time series at 31 wins for both sides. ... The Wolpack's last win in the series was a 92-72 win on Feb. 25, 2018. ... Matthew Cleveland, who is averaging a career-high 14.2 points scored per game, has scored in double figures in a career-best 15 consecutive games. ... Caleb Mills has scored in double figures in 12 straight. ... Freshman Baba Miller is coming off career-highs in points (11) and minutes (20) against Clemson. ... FSU has not been two games below .500 in ACC play this season. ... FSU coach Leonard Hamilton told the media in his Tuesday Zoom press conference center Naheem McLeod (undisclosed) has been ruled out for the game.
What FSU needs to do to win: The Seminoles have gotten off to slow starts in back-to-back games, including digging 11-0 and 16-2 holes against the Tigers last time out. ... The Wolfpack have won their last two games (Notre Dame and Wake Forest) by a combined five points. ... FSU's defense will need to key in on stopping Terquavion Smith (18.5 points per game) and Jarkel Joiner (16.8) in order to give itself a chance to win. ... Casey Morsell (12.5) and D.J. Burns (11.4) also average double figures in points. ... Burns is coming off a 31 point and nine-rebound performance in a 79-77 victory over the Demon Deacons on Saturday. ...The Wolfpack average 8.3 steals and 4.9 blocks per game.
ACC Standings Update: Clemson (10-1) continues to lead the ACC, while Virginia (8-2) is second. NC State (7-4) is tied with Miami for fifth place. FSU (5-6) trails both Wake Forest and Syracuse (6-5) for eighth place.
