Three-pointers: FSU is 11-1 in its all-time series with UCF. The Seminoles claimed an 80-63 win in their last game against the Knights, which came on Nov. 13, 2013. … FSU guard Darin Green Jr., a first-year transfer from UCF, will play his 39th career game at the Addition Financial Arena on Friday. … Sophomore guard Matthew Cleveland led the Seminoles with 16 points in their 83-74 season-opening loss to Stetson on Monday, extending his double-digit scoring streak to 10 games. … Forward Cameron Corhen became just the sixth freshman in the last 10 years to reach double figures in scoring in his FSU debut, tallying 10 points against the Hatters. … The Seminoles are 21-3 against in-state teams since the start of the 2016-17 season. … FSU has won an NCAA record 13 straight overtime games, dating back to 101-90 double-overtime win over Syracuse on Jan. 13, 2018. … UCF head coach Johnny Dawkins faced the Seminoles 14 times as an assistant coach at Duke (1998-2008) but never as a player for the Blue Devils. ... The Knights are coming off a 98-95 loss to UNC Asheville to start their season Monday.

What FSU needs to do to win: With only eight scholarship players available against Stetson, FSU could not look much worse. The shorthanded Seminoles went 14 of 27 (51.9%) from the free throw line while struggling to rebound and defend the perimeter. They obviously will have to improve in those areas if they want to beat UCF, which is coming off an 18-12 season. FSU coach Hamilton expects his team to be much better offensively. So maybe the Seminoles could find their rhythm against a Knight team that almost surrendered 100 to UNC Asheville. The sharp-shooting Green could spark FSU’s offense against his former team. He ranks No. 10 in AAC history for three-point field goals made (208) and averaged double figures in each of his last three seasons with UCF.
