3-pointers: FSU has won seven straight home games against Clemson and holds a 46-35 advantage in the all-time series. … While the Tigers have won nine of their last 10 games and rank No. 1 in the ACC standings, the Seminoles are coming off an 86-63 loss to Miami on Tuesday. … Clemson could be without its top three guards – seniors Brevin Galloway (groin) and Alex Hemenway (foot), and junior Chase Hunter (foot) – due to injury Saturday. … Senior forward Hunter Tyson (15.5 PPG) and junior center PJ Hall (14.2 PPG) lead the Tigers in scoring, followed by Hunter (14 PPG), Galloway (10.6 PPG) and Hemenway (9.8 PPG). … Clemson comes in at No. 5 nationally in free throw percentage (79.6%), along with No. 17 in field goal percentage defense (39.2%) and No. 24 in defensive rebounds per game (27.8).

What FSU needs to do to win: If the Tigers are without some or all of their top three guards, the Seminoles could take advantage. FSU potentially would be able to speed up a Clemson team that usually takes care of the basketball, ranking No. 38 in turnovers per game (11.2). Or maybe the Seminoles would channel their focus toward shutting down Tyson and Hall, challenging the Tigers’ backup guards to beat them. Either way, FSU must be better at defending the perimeter to have a chance. The Seminoles have allowed seven of their last eight opponents to make nine 3-pointers or more. And their top three scorers – guards Matthew Cleveland, Darin Green Jr. and Caleb Mills – need to bounce back after combining to shoot 10 of 36 (27.8%) from the field and 3 of 16 (18.8%) from beyond the arc against the Hurricanes.
