3-pointers: The Seminoles are seeking to avoid their worst season (in terms of losses) in a single season. The team has already tied for the worst season since the 2000-2001 season. ... Matthew Cleveland scored 12 points in his second game back from back spasms in the loss to UNC, while Caleb Mills led the way with 19. ... Cleveland leads FSU with 14.5 points and 8.9 rebounds per game, while Caleb Mills averages 13.7 points and Darin Green Jr. is at 13.1. Cleveland plays 35.3 minutes per game, while Green is at 35. Cleveland leads the team with 152 total rebounds, with Cam Cohren the next closest at 70. ... FSU is 36-23 all-time against the Hokies, but are 11-14 on the road against VT. The Hokies beat the Seminoles 85-72 last season in Tallahassee. Hunter Cattoor made nine 3-pointers and had 27 points in the victory. ... FSU has won two in a row in Blacksburg. ... FSU posted a 5-11 record at the Tucker Center this season.

What FSU needs to do to win: FSU overcame a 25-point deficit to beat Miami last Saturday, but could not overcome a double-digit deficit against UNC at home Monday. The Seminoles need to get off to better starts to have a chance in this game and in the tournament. ... FSU has been outscored by 108 in the first half and just eight points in the second half on the season. ... Erik Stevenson leads the Hokies with 15.2 points per game, while Tre Mitchell (11.4), Kedrian Johnson (10.6) and Emmitt Matthews Jr. (10.0) all average double-figures. Joe Toussaint is not far off with 9.8 points per game. Johnson also leads the team with 3.2 assists and 1.7 steals per game.

ACC Standings Update: Miami, Virginia and Pittsburgh enter the final day tied atop the ACC standings at 14-5. Duke and Clemson (13-6) both lurk one game behind. The Seminoles and Hokies begin the day tied for 12th. The winner would lock up 12th, while the loser falls to 13 in the ACC Tournament.
