3-pointers: The Seminoles defeated 75-64 in their lone matchup this season on Jan. 7 in Tallahassee. Matthew Cleveland had 21 points and 12 rebounds in the victory, while Lance Terry led GT with 17 points. FSU led by as many as 22 before a late surge from the Yellow Jackets. The victory marked Leonard Hamilton's 600th career win as a college head coach. ... The Seminoles own the all-time series against GT 45-32 and have 16 of the previous 21 matchups overall. ... The Yellow Jackets did defeat FSU 80-75 in the 2021 ACC Tournament, now both teams will be fighting each other to live beyond the first round. That tournament was also played at the Greensboro Coliseum. ... Florida State is 2-1 against Georgia Tech in ACC Tournament play. ... Guard Matthew Cleveland finished the season leading the team with 14 points and 7.6 rebounds per game. Darin Green Jr. (13.5) and Caleb Mills (13.0) also averaged double-figures for the season. ... The winner of this matchup will play No. 5 seed Pittsburgh at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday. ... The 22 losses and 13 conference losses were both new program records for FSU. ... Following Saturday's games, Georgia Tech is now ranked 165th in the Kenpom rankings, while Florida State is 212th. That means either team would need to win the tournament to have a chance at reaching the NCAA Tournament.

What FSU needs to do to win: For the season, Miles Kelly led the Yellow Jackets with 14.2 points per game on 41% shooting. Terry was second on the team with 10.2 points, but Ja'von Franklin (9.4), Dallan 'Deebo' Coleman (9.3), Kyle Sturdivant (8.3), Deivon Smith (8.0) and Jalon Moore (7.9) averaged close to double-figures and could make an impact. ... Both Terry and Franklin are averaging 14.2 points per game in their last nine games. ... The Yellow Jackets closed out the regular season with road wins this week at Syracuse (96-76) and Boston College (73-65).
