While everyone is putting their final plans in order for their New Year's Eve kisses, Netflix has a gift for fans. For 2022, Heartstopper, the young adult queer coming of age romance series based in the UK, won a legion of fans. The series dropped its first season introducing audiences to leads Charlie Spring and Nick Nelson and the heartwarming story of their relationship. While going into the show, Charlie (Joe Locke,) already knows himself to be gay, it's only through the pair's courtship that Nick (Kit Connor) realizes that he is bisexual.

They aren't the only romance. Elsewhere, Tara Jones and Darcy Olson are also dating and Tara (Corinna Brown) begins to experience what life is like as an out lesbian. But it's Elle Argent and Tao Xu's best friends and will-they-won't-they possible romantic partners that are getting a little extra screen time.

"In 2022 we said 'hi' to Heartstopper," Netflix tweeted. "Now, let's say goodbye to the year with this deleted scene from Season 1!"

In the scene Elle (Yasmin Finney) and Tao (William Gao) are laying on the floor giggling at somethign they are watching on the phone as Charlie and Isaac Henderson are asleep in bed. The group appear to be having one of their typical sleepovers.

"I miss you," Elle says.

"I miss you too," Tao responds.

When the scene ends the pair are cuddling in an embrace.

Back in May, Netflix announced that Heartstopper was renewed for two seasons. The series is based on the graphic novels by Alice Oseman. It has also shot many of it's stars into superstardom with over a million fans. Kit Connor won Outstanding Lead Performance at the first-ever Children's and Family Emmy Awards for his role as Nick.

There has been no announced date for season two's release. Earlier this month it was announced the season had finished filming.
