Watch Idris Elba's proud dad moment as daughter Isan Elba makes Golden Globes debut

Idris Elba’s daughter Isan made her Golden Globes debut – and he really wanted fans to know.

The Luther star couldn’t stop praising his 17-year-old’s big moment as she took to the stage as the 2019 Golden Globe Ambassador.

Isan was on hand to dish out the coveted trophies at Sunday night’s ceremony which saw a slew of British TV and film stars honoured.

Idris, who briefly joined his daughter on stage at the Beverley Hilton, told reporters he would be a “cool” dad ahead of the proceedings – but he couldn’t help later voicing his pride on Instagram.

“The Golden Globes tonight are unbelievably special,” he said in a video with his fiancée Sabrina Dhowre. “I get to watch my daughter on that stage. I want to shout out to her mum [Hanne Norgaard] who has done an amazing job.

“We’re very proud to see her on the stage. Wow. What an amazing evening.”

The father-daughter duo walked the red carpet hand-in-hand, with Isan stealing the show in a multi-coloured metallic gown.

Speaking to E! about the advice he gave Isan, Idris said: “I told her to keep her back straight, elegance is presence, smile and nod politely even if you can't understand what anyone's saying. If you feel like you're going to pass out – don’t.

“She’s good. She’s so confident. I can’t help but be a dad. I’ll just try to be cool.”

Idris also teamed up with Daniel Craig at the bash to perfectly troll James Bond fans. The Golden Globe winning star shared an “awks” selfie, prompting fans to question whether he will replace Craig as the 007 agent.

But he swiftly shut down any hope of playing the British spy, telling Entertainment Tonight: “No, no, no. It’s the biggest rumour in the world. It’s a compliment but it’s not going to happen. Just putting this out there.”
