Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announced satellite manufacturing company Terran Orbital is bringing a massive, end-to-end production facility to the Space Coast that will create 2,000 jobs.

“This will be the largest satellite manufacturing facility in the entire world,” DeSantis said.

DeSantis said it will mean a $300 million boost to the Space Coast economy, with wages projected to average $84,000 a year by the fourth quarter of 2025.

The facility will be located at Space Florida’s Launch and Landing Facility, the former landing site for the Space Shuttle program adjacent to Kennedy Space Center.

Terran Orbital CEO Mark Bell said the facility will be able to produce 1,000 satellites, mostly small cube sats, a year.

“For us Space Florida is the perfect place to tell the world who we are,” Bell said.
