Less than 48 hours after Oklahoma lost to rival Oklahoma State in Stillwater, Lincoln Riley boarded a plane with several assistants and headed to the Los Angeles to be named the University of Southern California's new head coach.

The drastic change came after five years of leading the Sooners and after agreeing to a six-year contract extension in 2020 worth $7.5 million annually. OU is owed $4.5 million for Riley's contract buyout.
