Hurricane Idalia made landfall Wednesday morning as a Category 3 storm near Keaton Beach, Florida, in Taylor County. It had sustained winds as high as 125 mph, according to the National Weather Service.

What can the Treasure Coast expect from Hurricane Idalia?

Wind gusts up to 40 mph and storms with a potential 1 to 2 inches of rain are what National Weather Service Meteorologist Kole Fehling said Treasure Coast residents can expect Wednesday as Hurricane Idalia pushes northeast after landfall.

A wind gust advisory is in effect for the Treasure Coast from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and a round of showers and storms are forecast for the evening hours, said Fehling.
