Hurricane Ian has been downgraded to a tropical storm but it's still packing a punch with maximum sustained winds at 65 mph.
Ian made landfall at 3:05 p.m. Wednesday near Cayo Costa, an island off the coast of Fort Myers. Sustained winds were 150 mph at landfall, making it a powerful Category 4 hurricane.
It weakened into a tropical storm as it made its way across Florida Wednesday night, according to the latest advisory from the National Hurricane Center.

At 5 a.m. Thursday, maximum sustained winds were at 65 mph but the storm is still expected to bring strong winds, heavy rains and storm surge across portions of Florida, Georgia and the Carolinas.
