Jan. 21—Throughout his decades-long career, St. Paul native Louie Anderson worked his Minnesota roots into his routine. Here's a look at a few memorable moments.

On his breakthrough 1984 debut on "The Tonight Show," Anderson asked if there were any Minnesotans in the crowd and, if so, could he get a ride home?

In 2017, Anderson said "I am them" about Minnesotans.

Like many Minnesotans, Anderson had issues with public perception of our sports teams. He talked about it with the KQRS Morning Show.

Anderson talks about growing up in a poor family with a drunk father.

Anderson chats about his mom Ora.

Anderson won an Emmy for playing a woman on the FX series "Baskets." Here, he talks about how he channeled his mother for the part.

If that's not enough, here's an entire 1987 Anderson set from the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis.
