Louisville football defeats Cincinnati: All scores, highlights from the Wasabi Fenway Bowl

The Keg of Nails is back and is being shipped up to Boston.

Louisville and Cincinnati football are renewing their rivalry Saturday morning in the inaugural Fenway Bowl, the first time the teams are meeting since Dec. 5, 2013.

There's been plenty of drama in the weeks since the matchup was announced — for both teams. Luke Fickel bolted from Cincinnati days after the season ended to take the job in Wisconsin, toppling several dominoes in quick succession. The most dramatic of those dominoes came next, when Louisville's Scott Satterfield took the Bearcats job a week later. And not even two days later the Cardinals snagged the man many have wanted for four years — favorite Louisville son Jeff Brohm.

Did you keep track of all that? Oh ... Satterfield and Brohm will not coach this game, and Malik Cunningham will not play as he readies himself for the NFL.

But the Keg of Nails is back, and a historic rivalry is renewed before it's held again in 2026. Here is everything you need to know to watch Louisville (7-5, 4-4 ACC) vs. Cincinnati (9-3, 6-2 AAC) in Saturday's Fenway Bowl.

Is Malik Cunningham playing? Which Louisville Cardinals will not play in bowl game?

The Cardinals will be without quarterback Malik Cunningham, running back Tiyon Evans, wide receiver Tyler Hudson and cornerback Kei'Trel Clark for the team's final game of the season.

New Cardinals coach Jeff Brohm will not coach the team during the bowl and has already been making some recruiting trips. Former coach Scott Satterfield said the day he was named Cincinnati's coach he would not make the trip to Boston, and the Bearcats will be led by assistant coach Kerry Coombs.

The only coaches Louisville will have for the bowl are all tight ends coach Josh Stepp, outside linebackers coach Greg Gasparato and defensive line coach Mark Ivey. The remaining staff under interim head coach Deion Branch will consist of graduate assistants and other personnel.

On top of Satterfield and several coaches, the Bearcats will be without receiver Tyler Scott, tight end Leonard Taylor and receiver/returner Tre Tucker
