Watch LSU student win Whataburger for a year with half-court shot during loss to Arkansas

Baton Rouge – Whatashot it was.

Phillip Gordon, an LSU student, won free Whataburger for a year after hitting a half-court shot during halftime of the Tigers' 65-58 loss to Arkansas on Saturday at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.

Gordon banked in the shot.

Johnnah Theriot, a former LSU cheerleader and the wife of former LSU and MLB shortstop and second baseman Ryan Theriot, captured a replay of the shot as it was shown on the video scoreboard at the PMAC and shared it on Twitter.

Kevin Batiste, a sports reporter and anchor for WAFB TV in Baton Rouge, caught the post-shot reaction on from the floor at the PMAC and also posted it on Twitter.

Whataburger is a popular Texas-based regional fast food restaurant chain with multiple locations throughout Louisiana.

Unfortunately for No. 12 LSU, the shots did not fall as well the rest of the afternoon Saturday as the one for free hamburgers did. The 15-2 Tigers hit just 38.2% (21-of-44) from the field as their three-game win streak came to a close.

LSU visits Alabama next on Wednesday (6 p.m., ESPN2).
