Host Miami must now win to stay alive Sunday night after losing 2-1 to Mississippi earlier at Alex Rodriguez Field at Mark Light Stadium. The Hurricanes (40-19) take on Arizona at 7 p.m.
Miami (39-18) had a 1-0 lead on Jacob Burke's RBI single and Carson Palmquist had shut the Rebels down over 5⅓ innings. But the Rebels were able to get to reliever Alex McFarlane, as Tim Elko smashed a two-run double in the seventh.
From there, Mississippi's bullpen quieted the Hurricanes.
The Wildcats (38-24) advanced to Sunday night's game by eliminating Canisius 7-5 earlier on Sunday.
The Rebels (xx-xx) beat the Wildcats (xx-xx) late Saturday night by a score of XX-XX.
