WATCH: Miles Bridges surprises LaMelo Ball with Rookie of the Year award

No player bonded more with LaMelo Ball in his rookie season than third-year forward Miles Bridges. Coming off the bench together to start the season, the two were dynamic on the court and formed a friendship off it.

So, when tasked with having a player surprise Ball with his Rookie of the Year award as the Hornets did on Wednesday, the answer was simple.

In a video released on the Hornets Twitter account, the team staged a promo shoot inside the team’s store, there were multiple surprises that took place. First, Bridges jumped out through a door for a surprise before attempting to hint at Ball being named the Rookie of the Year.

The first hint was a No. 2 jersey that said “Rookie of the Year” on the back that Ball did not get the hint on. Therefore, Bridges moved on to reveal the Rookie of the Year trophy behind another No. 2 jersey that Ball also entirely missed.

Finally, Bridges pointed out the trophy directly to which Ball was genuinely surprised. It’s an endearing video, if not also an enjoyable one for Ball’s complete lack of awareness.
