What to Watch on Monday: Documentary series corrects the history on women’s vote

The Vote (9 p.m., PBS / UNC-TV) - We’re learning more and more every day about how our high school history classes failed us. It’s no different when it comes to the story of women’s fight for the right to vote. This new American Experience documentary miniseries explores the radical movement that led to the passage of the 19th Amendment and shatters the myth that women were “given” the right to vote. The documentary corrects history and introduces viewers to the diverse, little-known women who led the movement and offers a deep dive into the challenges, tactics, concessions and complexities of the battle. Narrated by Kate Burton and featuring the voices of Mae Whitman, Audra McDonald, Laura Linney and Patricia Clarkson. Part 2 of this series airs tomorrow night.

Dateline NBC (10 p.m., NBC) - Tonight’s episode provides updates with new details and interviews in the case of missing history teacher and former Georgia beauty queen Tara Grinstead. Grinstead’s story has been examined in the popular podcast “Up and Vanished.”
