How to watch No. 3-seeded LSU women’s basketball vs. No. 2-seeded Utah in Sweet 16 on Friday

LSU’s postseason run continues after a fantastic Year 2 on the bayou for coach Kim Mulkey.

Her No. 3-seeded Tigers team has reached the Sweet 16 round of the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2014, and it draws No. 2-seeded Utah, which is coming off a win over Princeton in the second round after dropping 103 points on Gardner-Webb in the first round.

LSU, meanwhile, has taken care of business easily in each of its first two games against Hawaii and Michigan, winning by 23 and 24 points, respectively. This, however, will be the toughest test of the postseason so far.

“I wanted this year for our team to show progress, and we have,” Mulkey said in a release. “We’ve shown progress. I don’t think there’s any area that we went backwards. That’s what you want to keep doing.

“We’re not just an Angel Reese one-man show. If you watch us play, everybody has a role to play. We’re a mixture of transfers, one returning starter, freshmen, go eight deep, and everybody just does what they do.”

LSU will look to advance to the Elite Eight for the first time since 2008 when it takes on the Utes at 4 p.m. CT on Friday. Here’s what you need to know to watch this one.

Prediction

LSU made a statement that this year’s team is different after avoiding last year’s result, which was a second-round loss to a No. 6-seeded Big Ten team. The Michigan win was impressive, and it raises my confidence in this squad quite a bit heading into a contest against the highest remaining seed in the region. If the Tigers win this one, they have an excellent shot at the Final Four, and I think Mulkey’s squad gets the job done.

Prediction: LSU 77, Utah 73
